APPLE SHOWREEL
In the summer of 2024, I spearheaded the Apple Sales Creative Summit in Cupertino, California. The aim of the summit was to connect business with creative through storytelling and design workshops, inviting guest speakers on varied topics and celebrating the work done over the past year. The theme of the summit was “Yes &..” borrowed from improv for divergent creative thinking.
As part of the summit, we organized a Creative Showcase for
the entire organization. This montage reel was shown at
the opening of the summit, showcasing the team’s work
over the entire year.
My role as the head of Sales Creative Team was to finalize the theme for the summit,
make decisions on workshop topics (Communication with Stanford Professor Matt Abrahams, Storytelling with Video and Storytelling with Keynote Presentations), invite inspirational guest speakers (Gary Butcher- Former VP of design at AirBNB and Josiah Slifer- Head of Creative for Apple Services), and oversee all the arrangements. I also guided the team on the talk track for each of the workshop topics and tasked the team with creating all the touch-points for the event (including posters, pins, a website and delicious cookies 😋). Our approach was to keep the design of the summit simple in order to let the work shine.
Impact
We used a post-event survey to gather feedback on our workshops.
Of all the attendees who participated, 90% found the workshops helpful or very helpful.
Anecdotally, participants added the following quotes:
“There is always an opportunity to improve my presentations and messaging by more creatively (and more expertly) using our standard platforms. Storytelling and emotion, when used correctly, can be highly effective in driving key messages and asks.”
Another participant wrote “I liked the AM session very much. It was light and I think the structure made sense though we do follow it already in our team. It was a good refresher and was a chance to connect with other teams.”
